Grove Salad Recipe

We had a scrumptious salad last night, from a recipe I found on a postcard.  I wanted to share the recipe with our kids and couldn’t find it online, so I’m here to share it with all of you!

You’ll need some broccoli, celery, green onions, raisins, almonds and seedless grapes – all good-for-you-foods 🙂

G R O V E   S A L A D*

3 cups (750 ml) broccoli, chopped small

1 cup (250 ml) chopped celery or green pepper

5 green onions, chopped

1 cup (250 ml) raisins

1 cup (250 ml) sliced, roasted almonds

2 cups (500 ml) seedless grapes (the red grapes were great with it)

Mix the above ingredients in a large serving bowl.


1 cup (250 ml) mayonnaise

1 Tbs (15 ml) white vinegar

1/4 cup (60 ml) white sugar

1/2 tsp (2ml) of dill seed

1/4 cup (60 ml) milk

Make dressing, stir into salad mix just before serving.

This is a very filling salad.  I enjoyed it with red potatoes pan-fried on the stove top with the lid on, in butter with a handful of garlic cloves.  Along with some pan-fried white onions, I was totally filled up and happy – yum!
